TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. (970 WFLA) – During the course of the Felecia Williams murder investigation, Temple Terrace Police detectives said they identified a juvenile victim with whom police say 35-year-old Granville Ashanti Ritchie had engaged in sexual acts.
Police officials said detectives have identified at least four incidents of this activity since April 15, 2014. Police said the victim of this activity was being interviewed as a potential witness in reference to Williams’ murder when she disclosed to detectives the unlawful sexual activity. An arrest warrant for the new charges were obtained late Wednesday night, police said, for the separate case, not related to Williams' case.
Police said Ritchie has not been charged with Felecia’s murder at this time, and the investigation into Felecia’s murder is continuing.
The Temple Terrace Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in providing additional information about her murder. A $10,000 reward from the FBI and a $3,000 reward from Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay have been offered in this case.
Felecia Williams, a 9-year-old Edison Elementary School pupil, was visiting the Doral Oaks apartment complex in TempleTerrace on Friday, May 16 when she disappeared between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., police said. Police said her body was discovered floating in the water off Courtney Campbell Causeway in Clearwater about 3:20 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Granville Ashanti Ritchie, 35, was arrested Wednesday in Pinellas County on unrelated drug charges. He has not been charged in connection with the third-grader’s death, but police said he is considered a suspect.
