TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - There's a safe driving campaign beginning Monday by teens, for teens. It'll take place at Tampa's Chamberlain High School.
Teenagers are invited to participate in a billboard design contest that Bill Bade of The Self Movement says will be used on billboard to encourage teens not to text and drive.
“If a parent went and talked to their teen about it, they may not listen. So when we start with the teen and the teen then is empowered to make a difference, and they’re then telling their parents and other people, it’s a much more impactful message that everyone can hear,” Bade said.
The contest runs through April 30th. Winners will be some of the $7,000 in scholarship money available.
