RUSKIN, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Hillsborough County sheriff’s officials say a Ruskin man is behind bars and charged with one count of second degree murder.

Deputies say the investigation began on June 12, 2014 when 35-year-old Angela Tavarez-Caballero was reported missing by a family member. Deputies say she had last been seen at her residence on 5th Avenue SE in Ruskin.

Sheriff’s officials say detectives then met up with the suspect, 25-year-old Alejandro Flores-Sanchez, who they identified as the victim's boyfriend. During the interviews, deputies say the suspect admitted to being in a physical altercation with the victim during which time she died from an alleged head injury and he buried her under the wooden porch.
