TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA.com) - Investigators are hoping items they've removed from a charred Avila mansion will provide clues about why a business executive would shoot his wife and children in the head, then set their home on fire.
The bodies of father Darrin Campbell, his wife Kim, and their children Colin and Megan were found inside their smoldering 6,000 square foot mansion on May 7. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives think the family died in a murder-suicide plot carried out by Darrin Campbell.
A search warrant filed in the Hillsborough County Court system revealed that investigators have two computers found in the office of the home which was located in the exclusive Avila community.
An iMac desktop computer and another computer with a monitor was taken from the home of the Campbell family, who was renting the large home from former tennis pro James Blake.
