NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (970 WFLA) - The Pasco Sheriff's Office said deputies are investigating a carjacking that happened Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of a New Port Richey courthouse.
Deputies said around 3:30 p.m. a woman called authorities saying she was getting into her car at the courthouse on Little Road when a man demanded her car keys and diamond engagement ring on her finger. Once the suspect took the ring, deputies said he sped away in the victim's car.
Sheriff’s deputies said the car was found about an hour later in Hudson abandoned near New York Avenue, but the suspect was not there.
Deputies said they are looking for a white male who is approximately 30-35 years old, slim build with short, brown hair, clean shaven and was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt.
