TAMPA, Fla. (TBO.com) — A man arrested in February for calling and harassing sheriff’s office dispatchers almost 3,000 times is back in jail for doing it again, authorities said.

Keith Lukas, 43, pleaded no contest Feb. 25 after the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office filed a complaint against him for making unnecessary and vulgar calls to the department’s non-emergency line. He received probation and was ordered by a judge to stop calling the police unless he had a legitimate emergency.

But Lukas was arrested for contempt of court this week for violating that order, authorities said. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, records show.
